wanted birthday parties for folks of all
age groups ... When Marvin is the host,
he makes it an even extra fun affair.
For parties outside his museum, he
has entertaining portable machines to
bring along ... One where people sit in
a booth and their caricature is drawn
by computerized artists ... Another is a
postcard machine that puts your face
onto those of other bodies and spits
them out as postcards ... Then there is
a dance machine ... And a booth that
gives a person 40 different kinds of
hairdos.
They are among the unbelievable
amount of machines and "everything"
displays that are standard fixtures at
Marvin's.
He is constantly on the lookout for
more stuff to fill his already crowded
museum ... Like the 10-foot-tall leg-
endary Cardiff Giant that made P.T.
Barnum oodles of money ... and can
be seen at Marvin's without charge ...
The giant is upright in a box ... dug
out of the ground in 1869 by workers
digging a well.
Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical
Museum is in its own class that must
be seen to be enjoyed ... which it has by
3-4 million people ... most of whom
keep coming back for more ... in this
very worthwhile experience that gets
better with each visit.
Whenever David Copperfield is in
town, he is a regular visit to Marvin's
Marvelous Museum ... and loves to
spend time with Marvin ... Copperfield
has a large magic collection at his home
... and likes to talk magic with Marvin,
whose magical love is a big hobby of
his also ... Copperfield says he has
never seen a place that mixes the new
and the old so well.
There is only one word for Marvin
Yagoda and his Marvin's Marvelous
Mechanical Museum ... Amazing!
MUCH INQUIRY and talk is circu-
lating as to whether or not the Kruse
and Muer restaurants ... because of the
Muer name ... were also sold ... in the
recent purchasing of the Chuck Muer
Restaurant Corporation by Houston-
based Landry's Restaurant Company.
No ... they were not.
"Before starting my company in
1998 with Kruse and Muer Quality
Foods in Rochester," says Bill Kruse,
"I worked for 17 years at the C.A.
Muer Restaurant Corporation as vice
president of operations.
"Chuck and I became great friends.
When I left to go on my own, Chuck
asked if he could invest his own money
and become a partner.
"At no time was the money Chuck
