Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
March 16, at Congregation Beth
Shalom. He is the son of Diana Kuper
and grandson of Fira Kuper and the
late Mietek Kuper.
Raphie is an
honor student at
Norup Middle
School in Oak Park.
He is on the school's
basketball team. In
his spare time, he
enjoys playing trum-
pet, soccer and
working with com-
puters. For his mitzvah projects, he
visited the seniors at Coville
Apartments in Southfield, volunteered
at the Jewish Community Center, at
Congregation Beth Shalom during
Homeless Week and with the
Birmingham-Bloomfield Task Force
on Race Relations and Ethnic
Diversity.

Kelly Marie Paulisin of Bloomfield
Hills will be bat mitzvah at Temple
Beth El on Saturday, March 16. Her
proud parents are Dr. David and Mrs.
Karen (Blum) Paulisin. Also joining
her on the bimah will be brothers
Michael and Joey.
Grandmother Mrs.
Arlene Murray of
White Lake will
join in the festivi-
ties. Kelly is also
the granddaughter
of the late Joseph
and Mildred
Paulisin and Jacob
and Sylvia Blum.
Kelly is an honor student at Derby
Middle School in Birmingham. She
loves children and babysits often. She
attends jazz dance classes and enjoys
spending time with friends. Her mitz-
vah projects included a bottle-and-can
drive for a kidney transplant patient
and volunteering at Yad Ezra in
Berkley.

Evan Michael Sachs will become a
bar mitzvah on Saturday, March 16,
at Havdalah services at Temple Shir
Shalom. He is the son of Dr. Robert
and Lori Sachs and brother of Mindi.
Proud grandparents
are Dr. Mischa
Sachs of Bingham
Farms and Harry
and Ruth Davidson
of Pittsburgh, Pa.
He is also the
grandson of the
late Shirlee Sachs.
Evan is an honor
student at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He enjoys'playing travel
hockey, basketball, music and working
on the computer. Evan organized a
coat drive for an inner city Detroit
elementary school as his major mitz-
vah project.

Taryn Rachel Schiff, daughter of Lisa
Schiff and Steven Schiff and sister of
Adam, will become a bat mitzvah on
Friday, March 15,
at Temple Israel.

Taryn attends
Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills, where
she is an honor student. Her interests

ingful to her was donating to a dia-
betes fund in memory of her grand-
mother.

Andrew Alexander Shepley will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, March 16, at
Congregation B'nai Moshe. He is the
son of Rachel Becker of West
Bloomfield and Dennis Shepley of
Windsor, Ontario,
Canada, and
grandson of
Dorothea Becker
and the late Dr.
Abraham Becker.
Brother and sister
Eric and Emily
Shepley are proud
of Andrew and
look forward to participating with
