But it may be under a different name
... and an unlikely type of operation.
Red Coat Tavern's note has been in
its great hamburgers ... The new West
Bloomfield restaurant will be more of
a French bistro-style setup.
Executive chef is expected to be
Louis Sharkas, formerly of the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.

THE RHAPSODY HUNGARIAN

restaurant Dinner Concert is always a
very fine one ... This year, it is two
nights, Tuesday, March 12 and
Wednesday, March 13 ... both 6 p.m.
The $30 cost includes concert and
full dinner ... Kallel Kiss Erno and his
Gypsy orchestra, here from Hungary,
will do Hungarian folk songs and
operatic rhythms.
The Rhapsody is Downriver on

STICKLER FOR PERFECTION

Scott Rubin has delayed opening his
Justin & Jordyn Chophouse one more
week "to make sure" ... Definite open-
ing is Tuesday, March 12, at 5 p.m.
ALL NINE BUDDY'S Pizza loca-
tions are a part of the charity promo-
tional campaign to raise money high-
lighting "everyday heroes."
The first one, March 5, featured
firefighters from Oakland, Wayne and
Macomb counties ... with Buddy's
donating a portion from sale of its
Greek and Margherita pizzas ... to the
New York Firefighter's 9-11 Disaster
Relief Fund.
•THOUGHT I'D HAD the best, but
those lettuce wraps at Shangri-La in
West Bloomfield's Orchard Mall, have
to rank up there as well ... Customers
fill the cold crisp lettuce leaves with a
great mixture of water chestnuts, shi-
-take mushrooms, bamboo shoots and
chicken ... all chopped together into an
extremely tasty delight.
24-ANNIVERSARY rollback of
prices at Excalibur in Southfield has
been extended through March.
BESIDES THE TABLES and
booths ... there are now 23 stools and
long counter space for folks to put
their trays ... during lunch and dinner
... at Vineyards Cafe on Northwestern,
between Middlebelt and 14 Mile, in
Farmington Hills.
The counter faces a lengthy line of
display cases that hold Shirlee Bloom's
foods from meat to vegetarian ... in a
most appetizing array.
Next step are booths being removed
to make more room for tables ...
which, like the counters, all have a
beautiful teakwood styling.
Still difficult to believe the long way
that Vineyards owner, Ron Asmar, has
come.
