Syangogue. He is the beloved grand-
son of Mildred Simonian, the late
Dr. Simon Simonian and the late
Solomon and Lena Rubin. Brothers
and sisters Jenny, Vinay, Lindsay and
Simon will join his celebration.
Matthew is a student vice presi-
dent at Cranbrook
Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills,
where he is in the
seventh grade. He
enjoys snow board-
ing, golf, hackey-
sack and football,
and he plays the
tenor saxophone.
His mitzvah proj-
ects include helping at Yad Ezra in
Berkley and entertaining at
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield.

Alexander Shifman will celebrate his
bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, March 2. His parents are
Danielle and Allen
Shifman. He is the
grandson of
Denise and Albert
Lelonek and the
late Ann and
Simon Shifman.
A student at
Berkshire Middle
School in
Birmingham, Alex
is interested in video games, hockey
and wrestling. His most meaningful
mitzvah project was volunteering at a
summer day camp.

Hayley Sydney Sitron (Tzvia Bracha)
will be called to the Torah as a bat
mitzvah on Saturday, March 2, at
Congregation Beth Ahm.
Participating in the ceremony will be
her parents, Susan and Bruce Sitron,
and her sister Emily. Proud grand-
mother is Mildred Wise. Hayley is
also the granddaughter of the late
Sidney Wise and the late Harold and
Ruth Sitron.
Hayley is an honor student at
Abbott Middle. School in West
Bloomfield. She enjoys the computer,
water sports, art and spending time
with friends. Her
most enjoyable
mitzvah project is
volunteering with
the Friendship
Circle, where she
continues to be
active.
