Tryouts In March For Maccabi Teens

The Detroit Maccabi Club has
scheduled an information meeting
Wednesday, March 6, and tryouts
throughout March for its teams to
participate in the JCC Maccabi
Youth Games.
Detroit teams will compete either
Aug. 11-16 in Baltimore or Aug. 18-
23 in Montreal.
The information meeting for par-
ents and athletes age 13-16 will be
held 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the
West Bloomfield Jewish Community
Center's Handleman Hall.
Sports at the JCC Maccabi Games
in August will include boys and girls
teams in basketball, soccer, table ten-
nis, bowling, chess, dance, golf, rac-
quetball, swimming, tennis and
track. There will also be boys base-
ball and in-line hockey and girls vol-
leyball.
Some of the Detroit teams will
have tryouts in addition to the
March 6 meeting. All tryouts will be

in the West Bloomfield JCC gym:
Boys baseball 13-14: 7-8:30 p.m.
March 12 and 19.
Girls softball: 8:30-10 p.m. March
12 and 19.
Boys soccer: after March 6 meet-
ing.
Boys baseball 15-16: after March 6
meeting.

Girls soccer: 7-8:30 p.m. March
12 and 19.
Girls volleyball: 7-10 p.m. March
5 and 8-10 p.m. March 7.
Boys basketball 13-14: 7-8:30
p.m. March 14 and 21.

Girls basketball: 7-8:30 p.m.
March 14 and 21.
Table tennis: 4-6 p.m. March 10.
