JN: What distinguishes your book from
others on the same topic?
NB: My book addresses [issues] very
specifically. Most books are very general
and talk about what you should do
without telling you how to do it. I've
broken down all the necessary ingredi-
ents of good parenting to keep kids out
of trouble. It's an in-depth, very concrete
and Dr. Spock-like book for parents of
teenagers.

JN: Do you think all teen problems can
be managed?
NB: If the problems are discovered and
addressed soon enough, almost all teen
problems can be managed. Sometimes
things go way too far, and it's not quite
so simple to manage them, certainly not
by parents. We need to bring in heavier
artillery.

Jewish and non-Jewish teens, has visit-

before colleagues.
He recently spoke to the Detroit

some covered in his book, which pro-
