Brookline, Mass., died in Southfield Jan.
12. She was a bookkeeper and in the
1940s managed several large textile man-
ufacturing houses and their banking fac-
tors. She was also a vice president of the
national Young Israel movement from
1942-1947.
In Boston, Mrs. Simon served on the
boards of Amit Women, N'shei Agudas
Yisroel, Daughters of Israel, Yeshiva
University Women's Organization and
Maimonides School PTA. She chaired
many adult education programs.
Mrs. Simons is survived by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Tamy and Kenneth
Chelst of Southfield, Avivya and Billy
Stohl of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Dov
and Cherie Chelst, Azriel and Dassy
Chelst, Avishai Chelst, Sheldon Stohl,
Hindy Stohl, Rafi Stohl, Adina Stohl,
Nechama Stohl; great-grandchildren,
Shlomit and Rivka Chelst. Mrs. Simon
was the wife of the late Rabbi Isaac Simon.
Interment in Beth El Cemetery, West
Roxbury, Mass. Contributions may be
made to the Rabbi Isaac and Betty
Simon Scholarship Fund at Maimonides
School, Brookline, MA.

EILEEN THOMAS, 66, of Surprise,
Ariz., died Jan. 9.
She is survived by her beloved hus-
band, Andrew Thomas; sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, Stephen and Sharon Thomas
of Waterford; Timothy and Leah
Thomas of Beverly Hills; sister and
brother-in-law, Linda and Thomas Wein
of Woburn, Mass.; grandchildren, Isabel
Clare Thomas, Avivah and Joshua
Thomas.
