Jan. 2.
She is survived by her daughter,
Sharon Krakoff; son and daughter-in-
law, Sheldon and Jeannie Stein; grand-
children, Nancy Boliard, Rabbi Joseph
and Susan Krakoff, Joshua Krakoff,
Rachael Krakoff; great-grandchildren,
Atara and Micah Krakoff, Nicholas,
Matthew and Christopher Boliard; sister,
Natalie Kaplan; brother, Bart
Spiegelman.
Interment in California.
Contributions may be made to the Rabbi
Joseph Krakoff Discretionary Fund at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek. This

GEORGE STUTZ, 100, former
Detroiter of Sarasota, Fla., died Jan. 5.
He came to the Detroit area from Russia
at age 12. He later graduated from the
Detroit College of law and became an
assistant prosecutor for Wayne County.
Mr. Stutz was in private legal practice
from the 1930s until his retirement in
1990. Among his many Detroit commu-
nity affiliations, Mr. Stutz was president
emeritus of the Old Newsboy's
Goodfellow Fund in Detroit; he served
as president of the Jewish Family and
Children's Service, president of the
Hebrew Free Loan Association and pres-
ident of the Shapero School of Nursing
at Sinai Hospital. He was also a governor
of the Detroit Welfare Federation since
1932 and served as its treasurer.
In the religious community, Mr. Stutz
was a founding member and former
president of Temple Israel. In 1975, he
received the Fred M. Butzel Award for
outstanding leadership and service to the
Detroit Jewish community He was also
a Mason; and in Sarasota, he was a
member of Temple Sinai and a supporter
of the Sarasota-Manatee Jewish federa-
tion.
He is survived by his daughters and
sons-in-law, Judith and Mitchell Novit
of Indiana, Ellen and Gerald Kaplan of
West Bloomfield, Carol and Dr. Steven
Lash of Bloomfield Hills; son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. David Stutz and
Karen Jones of Florida; grandchildren,
David and Cathy Novit, Amy Novit and
Scott Kehoe, Steven and Megan Kaplan,
Susan and Michael Weingarden, Joe and
Stacey Lash, Dr. Rebecca and Dr. Adam
Rubin, Matthew Lash, Aaron Stutz and
fiancee Liv Nilsson, Deborah Stutz and
great-grandchildren,

WILMA MEYERS WECHSLER, 89,
of Southfield, died Jan. 1. She was a
member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, Hadassah and a board member
of the Fresh Air Society. As a founding
member of Sinai Hospital Women's
Guild and she helped
establish Babies
Alumni. She was also a
member of the
National Council of
Jewish Women.
Mrs. Wechsler is
survived by her daugh-
ter and son-in-law,
Wilma
Harriet and Robert
Wechsler
Dunsky of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren,
Andrew Dunsky and Daniel and
Jennifer Dunsky. She was the beloved
wife of the late Dr. Maurice P. Meyers
and the late Philip Wechsler.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

SADE R. WEINHOUS, 97, of
Schaumburg, Ill., died Jan. 4.
She is survived by her daughter, Eve
Nelms of Schaumburg; grandchildren,

great-grandchildren,
