ROSE BORMAN, 95, of Detroit and
Israel, died Nov. 25. Mrs. Borman was
a graduate of Eastern Michigan
University and served as a volunteer
social worker during World War II.
Her activities in the Detroit commu-
nity were widespread. She was presi-
dent of the Detroit Chapter of the
Denver League for Asthmatic Children,
president of a chapter of Women's
American ORT, a member of both
Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Adat
Shalom Synagogue. In addition, she
belonged to Hadassah and was a
staunch supporter of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, the
Jewish Friends of Hebrew University,
Wayne State University and Yeshiva
Beth Yehudah.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Diane and Murray
Sheckter; grandchildren, Steven and
Ilene Gilbert, Julie and-Jim Cahill,
Joanie and Roni Peled, Nancy and
Doron Porat; 12 great-grandchildren;
brother and sisters-in-law, Paul and
Joyce Pensler, Gertrude Pensler, Frances
Pensler, Irene Kraft Pensler. She was the
loving wife of the late Nathan
Weingarden and the late Abraham
Borman; mother of the late Janet
Gilbert; sister of the late Meyer Pensler,
the late Leslie Pensler, the late Maxwell
Pensler, the late Dorothy (Al)
Kaufman. Contributions may be made
to a charity of one's choice.

She often used her
knitting and quilting
skills in her volun-
teer work.

vived by her son and

Huntington Woods; grandchildren,
Emily, Ruth and Abel Cohen, Elana
and Ari Kaufman; sisters and brothers-
in-law, Ann and Morris Lazaroff of
Missouri, Frances Chaiken of
Southfield, Lorraine and Leonard
Lerner of West Bloomfield; brother and
sister-in-law, Leo and Doris Friedman
of West Bloomfield; sisters-in-law and
brother-in-law, Sylvia Solomon, Jerry
Cohen and Francine Friedman. She
was the beloved wife of the late Louis
Cohen; dear sister of the late Obbie
Friedman.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

GILBERT CEIFETZ, 58, of Redford,
died Nov. 24. He was the vice president
of Dale Investment Company in real
estate and property management, and a
supporter of the Jewish Association for
Residential Care.
Mr. Ceifetz is survived by his sons,
Glen Ceifetz of Southfield, Dean
Ceifetz of Redford; sister, Shelley Gach
of Huntington Woods. He was the lov-
ing son of the late Pearl and the late
Louis Ceifetz; dear brother-in-law of
the late Harold Gach.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to
JARC or the Harold I. Gach Memorial
Fund, do MSU Development Dept.,
4700 South Hagedorn, Suite 220, East
Lansing, MI 48823. Arrangements by

LEO I. FISHER, 87, of Oak Park,

died Nov. 21.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; son,
Steven Fisher of Oak Park; daughter
and son-in-law, Judy and Arnie
Sussman of West Bloomfield; brother
and sister-in-law, Art and Lillian Fisher
of Southfield; grandchildren, Lara
Sussman, Erin Sussman, Ilana Sussman
He was the loving brother of the late
Rae Gilroy, the late Mille Graff, the lat
Harry Fisher, the late Sam Fisher, the
late Al Fisher, the late Morris Fisher,
the late Edith Tarnowski.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.

MONA COHEN, 79, a 50-year resi-
dent of Huntington Woods, died Nov.
22. She was an artist, quilter and knit-
ter. Mrs. Cohen was a member of the
Quilting Guild, Hadassah and
Congregation Beth Shalom and its sis-
terhood. She was also a volunteer at
Federation Apartments, the Fleischman
Residence Gift Shop, Meals on Wheels,

DR. DANIEL LEO FOXMAN, 85, o
Keego Harbor, died Nov. 19. He was
an optometrist in Keego Harbor for
over 45 years. Dr. Foxman was a mem-
ber of the Masons, Lions, Eagles, Club
Jewish War Veterans, a fellow in
American Academy of Optometry, life
member of Michigan Optometric
Association, a past officer of Keego
Harbor Chamber of Commerce and a
