The Saab Sales

The Lofts @ Woodward Center is
on the same side of Woodward
Avenue as the former Hudson's site
but is north of Grand River Avenue.
The revamped site utilizes three old
commercial buildings for both office
and residential space.
Farbman Development Group
expects to build more than 1 million
square feet of new industrial space in
the city.
Detroit's outgoing mayor, Dennis
W. Archer, told the Jewish News, "It is
incumbent upon the next generation
to take an active role in shaping the
future of Detroit and the metropoli-
tan area. David and Andy's youth,
energy and vision will serve them well
in that capacity.
"Everything they do is approached
with determination, focus and cre-
ativity."
The Farbman Group is comprised
of several core businesses with a total
of 220 employees. It handles more
than 21.5 million square feet of prop-
erty. The Farbman Management
Group is the largest third-party fee
management company in Michigan.
The company's brokerage arm, NAI
Farbman, is affiliated with New
America International, the largest cor-
porate real estate service in the world.
There are 25 brokers working at NAI
Farbman.
Development and construction
divisions comprise the other compo-
nents. The Farbman Group operates
an in-house construction company,
Huntington Construction. Also
under the Farbman umbrella are enti-
ties involved in residential multi-fam-
ily real estate and land acquisition.
A longtime friend of the family,
Michael W. Maddin, president of the
Southfield-based Maddin, Hauser,
Wartell, Roth, Heller & Pesses, PC,
said the coming together of Andrew
and David in the company had to be
a "terrific moment of pride for their
parents, especially their father. It had
to be a moment of real joy. These are
both aggressive young men who are
driven to stamp their own program
and methodology on development."
The sons of Burton Farbman and
his wife Suzy, a former popular
columnist for the Detroit News, both
sons were born in Detroit.
David graduated from Michigan
State University in 1994 with a bach-
elor's degree in business and commu-
nication. After learning the various
aspects of real estate, he joined the
Farbman Management Group in
1995 as a property manager, eventu-
ally progressing to chief operating
