Shawn and Lisa (Sherman) Steam lov-
ingly announce the birth of their daugh-
ter and son, Riley Lauren (Rachel Leah)
and Jonah Evan (Joseph Kochav).

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Benjamin Allen Burland was called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah at
Congregation Shir Tikvah on Friday,
Oct. 19. He is the son
of Beth and Thomas
Burland and brother
of Rachel and Evan.
Proud grandparents
are Marilyn and
Arthur Goldman and
Kay and Robert
Burland.
Benjamin attends
Smith Middle School in Troy. His spe-
cial interests include playing on the
Smith football and basketball teams.
Other interests include snowboarding,
reading and traveling. His mitzvah proj-
ect was very rewarding; he participated
in a variety of Special Olympic events.
Olympic Super Stars and coaching a
Special Olympics baseball team were his
favorite activities.

Madison Chomsky will become a bat
mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 27, at
Congregation Beth
Shalom. Proud parents
are Susan and David
Chomsky.
Grandparents are
Bertha Chomsky of
Huntington Woods
and Ruth Goldberg of
T as Vegas. Madison is
also the granddaughter
of the late Max Chomsky and the late Sol
Goldberg. His sister Rikki and brother
Nathan will participate in the service.
Madison is a seventh-grade honor
student at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. Her interests include math and
drama. Madison has participated in
many mitzvah projects, including fund
raising for juvenile diabetes. research,
