admits.
"But we have some freshmen this
year who, I think, can improve. We
have a fairly young team."

type of (all-around) player" as Jaffe.
Amy Berke, a junior, is "a baseliner,
primarily." Freshman Kelly Davis
plays No. 4 singles. All four singles
players participate in the USTA's
national tournament program.
North Farmington's No. 1 doubles
team includes juniors Michelle
Boothroyd and Chrissy Dwyer. At
No. 2, Kimmy Solarz, a junior, plus
senior Allison Kay "would be typically
a team that would play both up and
- back, both aggressively and conserva-
tively," Brennan says.
Brennan adds that the No. 3 team,
including Jessica Hoffman, a junior,
plus senior Jenna Street, is "typically a
conservative team."
The No. 4 team includes seniors
Sarah Williams and Rachel Redmond,
plus sophomore Alyssa Trotsky.
Brennan shares credit for "any real
positive things that happen" with
assistant coaches Brett Beattie, Mitch
Mallin and Keely Jones.
Jaffe hopes those "positive things"
include a strong finish at the state
tournament. The Raiders finished
11th last season, but she hopes to

reached the state quarterfinals at No.
1 singles.
Looking ahead to 2002, Jaffe is
hopeful, even though the Raiders lose
