SECOND
MEETING of the
new Detroit Florida
Connection is in the
books ... and the
group is being readied for some fun
social events to come ... In Florida,
folks can call Toots Applebaum, (561)
369-3541 ... In Michigan, Harry
Lipsitz, (248) 661-0367.
YES, THAT'S Angelo Gergizas now
at Big Daddy's in West Bloomfield
again ... He's the gent whose former
Ram's Horn on Orchard Lake Road
brought him much popularity.
BACK DURING the 1940s at
Central High and Cass Tech High, 12
young fellows got together and formed
the Naturals club.
Aim was togetherness for a lot of
social fun ... At that time, the girls
clubs had Friday night meetings which
the youthful gents attended regularly.
Today, two have passed on ... Sam
Callton and Al Reifler ... and two live out-
of-state, Bob Green and Art Weinenger.
The remianing eight still get togeth-
er once a month for lunch ... and to
relive the great times they had ... Al
Barg, Leo Berlin, Ed Greenfield,
George Karnes, Jerry Morov, Marty
Murav, Lou Rosberg and Leo Sklar.
UNSUNG HEROES in the present

donations from CAP members,
employees and others ... Monies will
be used to provide both short-term
and long-term disaster relief to the vic-
tims and survivors of the terrorist
attacks ... For more info on how you
can contribute, call Mark Grant, (248)
644-3120.
I DIDN'T KNOW Either Dept ...
According to the National Restaurant
Association ... Michigan is ranked
eighth in restaurant sales among the
50 United States ... This is based on
figures recently available from the U.S.
Department of Labor, the U.S. Census
Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Labor.
Leading is California ... followed by
Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois,
Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
THE SIGN MAY now be up for
the new upscale Japanese restaurant,
Gajyoen, slated to open at the former
Powerhouse Gym site on Orchard
Lake Road and 14 Mile ... But it still
