"It felt good being side by side with other Americans as one despite
our diversity," she said.
Taking full advantage of the mighty choir, the program had several
songs, including "America, the Beautiful," which added inspiration to an
already inspiring service.
One speaker prompted a thought that continues to play in Peggy
Frank's mind.
"He mentioned words from a song — 'Let there be peace on Earth
and let it begin with me,"' said Frank of West Bloomfield. "We all have
to be part of it."
Dan Krichbaum, NCCJ executive director, felt the service served a
great purpose. The NCCJ steering committee is planning more.
"We began the process of normalizing our routines" with the service,
he said. "Many are still scared of terrorist acts, but we can't let terrorists
win. The more we have these events, the safer we all are."

The program will include a

States and Israel. Sen. Debbie

to be among the guest speakers.
At press time, names of other
speakers were unavailable.
Larry Jackier, Federation presi-
dent, said it is
important for the
Jewish people to
rally together in a
large forum.
"When we're all
together, we really

very long pull here,

to require our advo-
cacy, and it's going
to require advocacy
that can't be done by a few people
alone, but by everyone."
Robert Aronson, Federation
CEO, expressed the need for a
rally

sense I get from

that even though
people have been

there is a need
for us across syn-
agogue boundaries and through-
out the community to observe
together. Ei
