Middle School in West Bloomfield,
Robert is interested in model trains,
aircraft, music and video games. His
most significant mitzvah project was
volunteering at the Michigan Animal
Rescue League.

Jacob Smith will celebrate his bar mitz-
vah on Saturday, Sept. 8. Jake is the son
of Jackie and Joel
Smith and the broth-
er of Jennifer Smith.
Proud grandparents
include Fay Beckwith
and Betty and Al
Smith. Jacob is also
the grandson of the
late Jack Beckwith.
Jacob is an honor
student at Berkshire Middle School in
Birmingham. His favorite hobbies
include soccer, skiing and basketball.
For his mitzvah projects, Jake volun-
teered for the Jewish Association for
Residential Care and the Jewish Home
and Aging Services. He also participat-
ed in a flying trapeze experience to raise
money for HAVEN, an Oakland
County domestic violence shelter.

Zachary Marc Wettenstein will celebrate
his bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Saturday, Sept. 8. He is the son of
Miriam and Gary Wettenstein and broth-
er of Rachel. Proud grandparents are
Charlotte Gorman and Benjamin
Werrenstein. He is also the grandchild of
the late Seymour Gorman and the late
Roselyn Werrenstein.

Brittany Lynn Turner will be called to
the Torah as a bat mitzvah on Friday,
Sept. 7, at Temple
Beth El. She is the
daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lee "Buzz"
Turner and sister of
Brooke, Breanne,
Brenna and Brett.
She is the grand-
daughter of Mrs. Eva
Dalton and Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Muszynski.
Brittany is an honor student at
West Hills Middle School in
Bloomfield Hills, where she partici-
pates in student council and forensics
and plays basketball and softball.
Currently Miss Junior Miss of
Michigan 2001, she was second run-
ner-up and Miss Congeniality in the
national pageant. A brown belt in
karate, Brittany also acts, models,
dances ballet and competes in jazz and
tap. Her mitzvah project is the
Coalition On Temporary Shelter,
where she is a regular participant.

Jeffrey Brandon DeLia of Scottsdale,
Ariz., will become a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept. 8, at
Temple Beth Israel
in Scottsdale. His
proud parents are
Stacey and Marc
Reed of Scottsdale
and Steven DeLia of
Overland Park, Kan.
His sister is Jennifer
DeLia of Tucson.
Equally proud are grandparents Elaine
and David Breger of Scottsdale,
Vivian and Eugene Friedman of
Southfield and great-grandparents
Cecilia and Charlie Friedman of
Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. He is also the
great-grandson of the late Bessie and
Leo Blake of Oak Park.
Jeffrey is an eighth-grade student at
Desert Arroyo Middle School in Cave
Creek, Ariz. His favorite subject is
math and he aspires to be an architect
or engineer. He loves to play baseball
and is a major football fan.

Daniella Leigh Silverstein celebrated
her bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Aug. 18, at
Midbar Kodesh
Temple in
Henderson, Nev. She
is the daughter of
Michael B.
Silverstein and the
late Debbie Shapiro
Silverstein, formerly
of Oak Park. Excited are grandparents
Anna and Mason Himelhoch of
Southfield and Jack Shapiro of
Henderson and great-grandmother
Annie Shapiro of Henderson.
Daniella is an honor student at
Greenspun Junior High School and
a member of the Junior National
Honor Society. She donates her time
to help children of need and pro-
motes tzedakah projects in her com-
munity.
