President George W Bush addresses
Teamsters members in Detroit.
The 82 metro-Detroiters signed up
for the IsraelNow Solidarity Mission
Sept. 9-14 met last week to go over
last-minute details. The mission itiner-
ary includes visits to the site of the
discotheque bombing in Tel Aviv, an
absorption center in the Partnership
2000 region of Nazareth Illit and a
tour of the Gilo neighborhood, which
regularly receives gunfire from
Palestinians in Beit Jala.

President George W. Bush spoke of
jobs, the economy and faith-based
programs during a visit to the
Teamsters headquarters in Detroit
on Labor Day.
"We shouldn't resist faith-based
programs, we ought to welcome
them," he said. "We ought to
encourage them. We ought to
spread them through our neighbor-
hoods so that nobody feels left out
in America."
The comment, and his visit, drew
light applause.
