Detroit's teen Maccabi athletes prepare for the games.

agerly awaiting their departure for the 2001 JCC Maccabi Games,
the Detroit Maccabi Club held a send-off meeting and barbecue last
Sunday at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield.
Some 173 athletes and 39 coaches hi the Detroit delegation will leave
Sunday, Aug. 19, for the 2001 games. Detroit will participate in 'athletics and
social activities in Philadelphia and Jersey Shore.
