he seventh annual
Woodward Dream
Cruise, which cele-
brates memories of
cruising Woodward Avenue with
scads of vintage cars and music
of the era, will take place
Saturday, Aug. 18, from 9 a.m.-
9 p.m. In addition, many cities
are planning events for Friday,
Aug. 17. Along the 16-mile
route, 30,000 classic vehicles are
expected to cruise during the
world's largest one-day celebra-
tion of car culture.
In honor of the cruise, the
Jewish News surveyed members of
the community about memories
of their first car.

The Woodward Dream
Cruise takes place Saturday
from 9 a.m-9 p.m., along
Woodward Avenue between
Ferndale and Pontiac.
Various events will occur
throughout the day and
evening in Pontiac,
Birmingham, Royal Oak,
Berkley, Huntington Woods,
Pleasant Ridge and Ferndale.
There will be a free SMART
bus along Woodward from
Eight Mile Road to down-
town Pontiac 8:30 a.m.-11
