Janet Friedlander, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn
Friedlander of La Jolla, Calif.,
formerly of Johannesburg,
South Africa.
Ms. Friedlander earned a
bachelor of science degree in
mechanical engineering at the
University of Texas at Austin.
She is employed at NetSolve
as a senior network engineer.
Mr. Safran graduated Phi
Beta Kappa with a bachelor
of arts degree from
Swarthmore College in
Swarthmore, Pa. He also earned a
master of business administration
degree from the University of
Michigan Business School, with a
concentration in industrial engineer-
ing through the Tauber
Manufacturing Institute. He is a sen-
ior consultant in the Investors

Relations Group at Dell Computer
Corporation.
Nicole and Jon met in Austin,
Texas, and were engaged at
Enchanted Rock National Park in
Fredericksburg, Texas. A September
wedding is planned at the Four
Seasons Hotel in Austin.
