HARMON BAYER, 81, of West

MILTON CHERKASKY, 85, of
West Bloomfield, died July 21.
He is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Richard and Janice
Cherkasky of Franklin; daughter and
son-in-law, Carole and Curtis
Slotkin of Bloomfield Hills; sister
and brother-in-law, Muriel and Jack
Farley of Tamarac, Fla.; grandchil-
dren, David and Jonathan Singer,
Erin and Bryan Cherkasky, Keith
and Elissa Slotkin. He was the
beloved husband of the late Vera
Cherkasky.
Graveside services were held at the
Beth Tefilo Emanuel Cemetery.

recognized for his devoted service to

Zionist
Movement-
Michigan
Region. Mr.
Bayer was a past
president of
Parents for
North American
Israelis, a found-
ing and charter
member of
Harmon Bayer
American
Society for
Quality Control
(ASQC), a fellow for the American
Association for Advancement of
Science in 1964. He was listed in
Library of Congress as a prominent
engineer in 1975, listed in Who's
Who as a top engineer and was rec-
ognized for outstanding contribu-
tions at Hechtman Apartments.
Mr. Harmon is survived by his
wife, Adele; sons and daughters-in-
law, Edward and Hanna Bayer of
Israel, Charles Bayer of Oak Park
and Gerald and Jan Bayer of Oak
Park; daughter and son-in-law, Irene
Bayer and Garrett Schwinghamer of
Ann Arbor; grandchildren Tali and
Yan Tupilsky, Havi and Max Derhy,
Shirt and Benny Hoffman, Karen
Bayer, Roey Bayer, Jacob Bayer,
Laura Bayer, Julia Bayer, Lee
Schwinghamer and Karl
Schwinghamer; great-grandchildren,
Ido and Hagar Tupilsky and Emmy
Derhy.

SOPHIE BRAND, 88, formerly of

Southfield of Pompano Beach, Fla.,
died July 12.
She is survived by her son, Gary
(Sheryl) Brand of Commerce
Township; cherished grandchildren,
Stacy and Bruce Goldberg and Kevin
Brand.
Services were held in Florida.
Interment at Star of David Cemetery
in Tamarac, Fla. Contributions may

HOWARD BERNARD EHRLICH,

77, former Detroiter of
Massachusetts, died July 22. He was
a graduate of Wayne State University
Law School and had worked as an
engineer, die designer and an attor-
ney.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Sarah; daughters, Elizabeth Ehrlich
Potok of Mamaroneck, N.Y., Dr.
Carol Ehrlich of Brookline, Mass;
son, Abraham Ehrlich of Manhattan.
Services were held in New York.
