Friends Of Kadima Dedicate Center

Friends of Kadima celebrated the Henrietta and Herbert Charfbos Kadima
Center dedication on June 10. The purchase and move to the building, 15999
W 12 Mile Road, Southfield, was made possible by a donation from Herbert
Charfoos and the support of many others. The house committee was chaired by
Barbara Eisenberg and Sondra Nathan, with committee members Gail Epstein,
Gail Katz, Rhoda Raderm Linda Schechter and Merle Schwartz. Rabbi
David Nelson affixed the mezuzot. The first phase of the capital campaign was
led by Neal 7.alenko and Lionel Margolick; a second phase is under way under
Richard Herman. Elyse Essick, chair of the marketing committee, developed a
new logo for Kadima, which was created and underwritten by Yaffe and Co.
Building committee members were Sherry Innes, Larry Lax, Ron Schwartz,
Irving Protech and chair Richard Zussman. Shown are Herbert Chalfbos,
President of Kadima Richard Zussman and Ron Charfoos.

Israel Bonds Honors Edythe Jackier

The Metro Detroit Women's Division of State of Israel Bonds realized $2.4
million in new investment funds at its Diamond Trustee/Prime Ministers Club
Tribute reception honoring Edythe Jackier. The event was chaired by Jean
Frankel and Jane Sherman and hosted by Miriam and Fred Ferber. The
Jerusalem of God award was presented to Mrs. Jackier Dr. Ellen Cannon was
guest speaker. Front row: Miriam Ferber, Rabbi Irwin Groner, Edythe Jackier,
