Detroit, where he played in the march-
ing band and joined the fencing club,
he won many medals and was recog-
nized as the state of Michigan outstand-
ing fencer.
Mr. Kutlov earned a degree in electri-
cal engineering but to get a job at
Ditzler Color Company he enrolled in
Lawrence Institute of technology and
went to night school to earn a degree in
chemical engineering. During World
War II, he did work with automotive
paints and worked with all branches of
the armed services on camouflage.
He later joined the Cadillac Packing
Company and went on the become a
specialist in spice flavoring and sanita-
tion of meat packing plants.
He was first clarinet in the All City
Band and Orchestra in Detroit and was
offered a scholarship to attend the
national music camp at Interlochen.
Mr. Kutlov was a life member of the
American Chemical Society, the
Institute of Food Technologists, the
Detroit Institute of Arts, the alumni
association of Lawrence Tech, life mem-
ber of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, a
member of B'nai Moshe Synagogue and
an associate member of Hadassah.
In 1978, Mr. Kutlov was honored by
the Greater Detroit Sausage
Manufacturers Association and was pre-
sented a charter investor certificate for
his investment in the University of
Detroit Mercy.
Mr. Kutlov is survived by his wife of
62 years, Leona Kutlov; daughters and
son-in-law, Carol and Ram Armon of
Israel, Elizabeth Levin of Huntington
Woods and her fiance Stephen Kelman;
grandchildren, Oren, Eyal, Guy, Dana
and Gil Armon, Daniel and David
Levin. He was the dear brother of the
late Sophie Kutlov, the late Mary and
the late Lt. Col. Milton Kutloy.
Interment at Oakview Cemetery.

LAURENCE R. LEVETT,
88, of Oak Park, died
May 27.
He is survived by his wife, Asya
Litvin; daughter and son-in-law, Larisa

grandchildren, Edward Korot, Emily

ISAAK IRVIN,
76, died June 8.
She attended Durfee Middle School
and graduated from Central High
School in 1943. She attended Wayne
University for a year before going to
work for the government selling World
War II bonds.
For a while, she worked for her dad,
who operated and owned Orleans
Packing Co., a string of wholesale
meat outlets headquartered in
Detroit's Eastern Market. She also
wrote for the Southfield Sun newspa-
per about the social and educational
scene in Washington Heights after the
family moved there by winning the
1955 Builders Home and Flower
Show Ideal Home. She enjoyed play-
ing bridge, mah jongg and canasta. In
addition, she played piano, loved
Broadway musicals and enjoyed art.
She was a Cub Scout den mother.
She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Tony (Sue Duberstein) Moss
of Philadelphia; daughter and son-in-
law, Adrienne and Harry Weiss of
