Melissa Davis was called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah on Saturday,
April 28, at Temple Emanu-El. She
is the daughter of Michael and
Cheryl Davis and
sister of Jeffrey.
She is also the
granddaughter of
bubbie Ann
Sorkin, grandpa
Kenneth and nana
Sandra Davis and
the late Edward
Sorkin.
Melissa is a seventh-grade honor
student at the Helen Keller Middle
School in Royal Oak. She enjoys
playing the bassoon in the school
band, is an avid reader of many
types of books and loves shooting
hoops in her spare time.
For her mitzvah project, Melissa
assisted her brother and his Boy
Scout Troop 1625 at their summer
week-long day camp with their craft
projects and games. She also helped
her bubbie with chores.
