NG OUR PUNE

The
Jewish
Agency
for Israel

Israel is in a category all its
own when it comes to sav-
ing lives. No nation in the
world has stretched its
resources to the extent that
Israel has to rescue people
from hardship and danger,
and then willingly shouldered
the extra responsibility of
helping them achieve indepen-
dence and self-fulfillment.

And no organization has perfect-
ed the art and science of rescue
like the Jewish Agency for Israel
(JAFI). For more than 70 years, this
major overseas beneficiary of
Federation's Annual Campaign has
been bringing our people home.

Most of JAFI's global Jewish agenda
goes right to the heart of our Jewish
values. Through the Jewish Agency,
our Campaign dollars are transporting
endangered Jews to freedom. We're
providing refugees with the necessities
of life and the tools to prepare for a
productive role in a modern society.

JAFI has helped to
shape the life-affirming
Partnership 2000, our
Federation's people-to-
people exchange in
Israel's Central Galilee
region, and developed
the programs that are
creating a new generation
of Jewishly educated young
people around the world.

When it comes to Jewish rescue
and renewal, JAFI is helping
Israel and the Jewish people
write another remarkable chapter
in Jewish history.

To help the Jewish Agency continue
its important work, please pledge what
you can to Federation's 2001 Annual
Campaign by calling (248) 203-1454.
