Tinetti, sales and marketing director ...
Jerry was born in Detroit, and about
that filet, he uses nothing but top quali-
ty certified Angus beef.
In Houston, Jerry and Frank worked
together at the Marriott there, where
Jerry helped Frank open Marriott
restaurants around the country ... Last
year, Frank told Jerry's mother, "I'm
bringing your son back to Michigan" ...
A local resident, she said, "Frank, if you
do, you'll be my hero!" ... And so Jerry
returned to this area in 32-degree
weather ... leaving the sunny 80-degree
climate behind.
Hassan Yazbek, Parkway Grille gener-
al manager, is known by many who
remember him from 10 years at the for-
mer Topinka's Country House on
Telegraph and as a waiter at Jacques ...
He was manager of all Marriott restau-
rant operations at Metropolitan Airport.
Parkway Grille is a seven-day-a-week
restaurant ... open for breakfast, lunch
and dinner from 6:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
... At lunch and breakfast, there is a buf-
fet plus the regular menu ... A Sunday
buffet is available from 11:30 a.m.- 2:30
p.m. ... The lounge is open 10:30 a.m.-
midnight
Then like a chameleon, Parkway
Grille becomes one of the finest upscale
dining restaurants in these parts.
You won't find too many places that
serve a better crab and shrimp cake ...
which can be gotten both as an appetiz-
er and an entree ... with its wonderful
consistency that incorporates a blend of
red, green and yellow peppers, scallions,
shrimp and crabmeat ... And if you're
into soup, there are few better than the
lobster corn chowder which has a taste
creation that stands in line for none
other.
Jerry's ahi tuna is somewhat on the
order of smoked salmon ... Very thin,
raw tuna carpaccio not seen on too
many menus.
His kitchen staff, including sous chef
Carlos Rodriquez, is very innovative
and creative ... So much so that if ingre-
dients are in the house, it can ... and
will ... make whatever guests desire.
Very much requested dishes like din-
ner winners Lake Superior whitefish
and Atlantic salmon are prepared in
many different ways ... among them the
favorites of just plain broiled whitefish
and poached or grilled salmon.
The delicious pastries are homemade
at Parkway Grille ... by its own pastry
chef ... Patricia 'very, whose career start-
ed out in nursing but took a turn the
gourmet cuisine route in her lavish
preparations that include a very fie and
elegant white chocolate cherry bread
pudding that will be featured in an
