declared bankruptcy in 1992 because
of being $20 million in debt.
Today, his more than a-million-dol-
lars-a-month act generates more
money than either Frank Sinatra or
Elvis Presley ever did ... and besides
being one of Las Vegas' highest-paid
acts, was once listed in the Guinness
Book of World Records as the planet's
highest-paid entertainer.
"I don't see myself retiring — ever,"
Newton said. "I really don't. I love
entertaining. I love producing and
directing, but the real joy for me is to
walk out on the stage and do what I
love to do most."
Wayne Newton is a wonderful
entertainer that is truly loved by
many, and has a strong and loyal fol-
lowing ... with the persona and
charisma to always fill the room and
entertain his audience.
When he comes here to Andiamo
Celebrity Showroom, try not to miss
him ... It's a tip you'll be glad you
didn't ignore ... The Wayne Newton
show is a pleasurable experience.
TONY BENNETT is the latest to
be signed up for Freedom Hill on 16
Mile Road just east of Schoenherr
operated by Joe Vicari and Gary
Roncelli, who own Hillside
Productions ... He is scheduled to
appear, July 18, at the amphitheater
with 4,000 pavilion seats and space
for 3,200 more on the lawn.
Joe and Gary have quite an impres-

Humperdinck, June 8; Glen
Campbell, June 16; James Brown,
July 1; Righteous Brothers, July 18;
Aretha Franklin, July 19; Ray
Charles, July 21; Ringo Starr, July 28,
etc. ... Also a list of great groups that
include Alabama, Air Supply and
America, George Benson, Alabama,
B-52's, etc ... And folks like Sarah-
Lil's Harold Finegood, will love it
when hearing that the Irish Tenors
will be at Freedom Hill on June 17.
IT NEVER SEEMS to run out of
novel ideas ... and the well gives the
impression of being far from going
dry.
This year's 19th Annual Dinner by
Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute,
