PAULINE B. MILLER, 95, of
Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., died April 15.
She was a member of Hadassah and
during World War II, she would have

Mrs. Miller is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Colman and
Marsha Miller of Arizona; grandsons,
Marc and Jeffrey Miller; two great-
grandchildren. She was the beloved

DR. ALVIN V. PENSLER, 73, for-
merly of West Bloomfield of Napa,
Calif, died March 18. Dr. Pensler
practiced general and cosmetic den-
tistry for more than 35 years at the
Garden City
Otseopathic Hospital.
He was the developed
of the double-arch
impression technique
and the Pensler Shield
for shade selection.
Dr. Pensler had
been a clinical adviser

authored 38 articles
which appeared in leading national
and international publications and he
lectured extensively on a variety of
dental topics.
Among his honors are becoming a
fellow of the Royal Society of health
in England (1972), becoming a fel-
low of the Academy of general den-

tistry (1978, and being listed in
Who's Who in 1978 and 1994. He
was also an award-winning photog-
rapher and had been commissioned
in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S.
Public Health Service.
Dr. Pensler was instrumental in
influencing the decision to place flu-
oride in the metropolitan Detroit
water system as well as in surround-
ing suburbs.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Anita; children, Elizabeth and
Michael Rottner of Southfield,
Karen Pensler of Florida, Catherine
and Michael Bednarz of Chicago,
Wendy and Paul Loberstein of Napa,
Calif., Lisa and Paul Hammond of
San Mateo, Calif.; grandchildren,
Michelle, Rachael and Sarah
Rottner; Logan Bednarz, Adam and
Matthew Loberstein, Sarah and
Mara Hammond; sisters, Joyce Kraft
Mark of Los Angeles, Marilyn
(Seymour) Gordon of Franklin;
brother, Eugene Kraft of Bloomfield
Hills. He was the father of the late
Michele; dear son of the late Max
Pensler and the late Irene and Harry
Kraft; brother of the late Hannon
Kraft.
Contributions may be made to
the American Cancer Society or to
be a charity of one's choice. Services
and interment in Napa.

LOUIS ROTH, 89, of Southfield,
died April 10. He was the founder
and owner of Hillside Realty —
Redwood Construction, residential
builders, the RB Vinegar Company
and Best-Pak Pickle Company.
Locally, he was the owner of many
hotels. He was also a member of
Temple Israel.
Mr. Roth is survived by his wife,
Mildred Roth; daughters and son-in-
law, Jacqueline Lipshaw of West
Bloomfield, Madeline and Louis Lan
of Farmington Hills; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Michael and Janie Roth
of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren,
Marc and Suzanne Lipshaw, Jeffrey
and Lori Lipshaw, Jodi and Jason
Anstandig, Julee Roth, Jared Roth,
Jaimey and Sheryl Roth, Alyson Lan,
Bradley Lan, Justin Lan and fiancee,
Randi Doliveck; great-grandchil-
dren, Joshua, Jeremy, Eric and
Stephen Lipshaw and Jordan and
Jonah Anstandig.
Interment at Adat Shalom
