Southfield, died April 6.
She is survived by her husband,
Meyer Blackman; sons and daugh-

Jeffrey and Maureen Blackman of
Port Huron; daughter and son-in-
law, Elaine and Robert Harrison of

and Sean Evans, Randy and Jodi

ANNABELLE BRESSLER, 84, for-

merly of Huntington Woods of
Santa Monica, Calif., died March
30. She was a graduate of Wayne
State University
and was one of
Detroit's first
well known
major retail dis-
play engineers
and a host of
radio shows for
the Detroit
Display Club.
During World
War II, Mrs.
Bressler was a
Annabelle Bressler
volunteer for
the office of
civil defense. She also developed a
sign and body language interviewing
technique for non-English speaking
applicants, which enabled them to
be placed in manufacturing work;
this supplied experienced workers to
help in factories focused on the war
effort. She also designed and painted
large-scale canvas camouflage for the
U.S. Marine Corps and designed
patriotic displays for banks to sell
war bonds.
Mrs. Bressler worked alongside
her parents at the Detroit USO. A
life member of B'nai B'rith Women,
she was also a member of the
Founders Society of the Detroit
Institute of Art and the Zoological
Society of Detroit. In addition, she
was a member of the Navy League
and a founding member of the
Foreign Friends of Acapulco, an
international organization providing
homes, a clinic and scholarships for
Mexican children to be able to
attend college in the United States.
Mrs. Bressler is survived by her
son, Carl Bressler of California;
daughter and son-in-law, Erica
Bressler and Carlo Reueles of
California. She was the beloved wife
of the late Nathan Bressler.
Contributions maybe made to the
Anti-Defamation League. Interment at
Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

and Congregation Beth Israel
Sisterhood.
She is survived by her beloved
husband, Harry of Flint; sons,
Steven of San Diego, David of
Boston; daughter and son-in-law,
Abbe and David Sherbin of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Kelsey
and Leah Binder, Liza and Anna
Sherbin. She was the loving sister of
the late Edith Dritch; daughter of
the late Abraham and Rose Fink.
Chapel services were held at
Congregation Beth Israel with inter-
ment at Machpelah Cemetery in
Flint.
Contributions may be made to
Hadassah; Congregation Beth Israel
in Flint or University of Michigan
Comprehensive Cancer Center, 1500
East Medical Center Drive, Ann
Arbor, MI 48109.

Borin; 13 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; brother,
Joseph Berger of Florida; sister,
Minnie Mehl of Canada. She was
the beloved wife of the late Fred
Bock and the late Jacob Borin.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman
Chapel.
