One hundred and fifteen years ago, Barney Kroger opened a community grocery store.

In 1917, The Kroger Co. opened its first store in Michigan.

A lot has changed since then, but we have not forgotten the basic principles on which the company was founded:

diversity, tradition and community. With this in mind, we strive to create a diverse work environment, which reaches

across cultural and ethnic boundaries and into your community. At Kroger we understand that everyone's needs are

different . . . everyone's tastes are different. We embrace this diversity. Although we've become the nation's largest

supermarket chain, we are committed and responsive to the needs of our communities and consumers.
