with a little of each.
Now, at Chuck Muer's Seafood
Tavern on Maple, just east of Orchard
Lake Road in West Bloomfield, is
"Curbside Carryout" ... You call ahead
and attendants come running out to
your car with the order.
Everything from pizza, sandwiches,
pastas, soups, salads, desserts, bever-
ages and even fresh fish, etc ... The
full "Curbside Carryout" menu also
has a kids' section.
AMONG THE attributes that peo-
ple like in Dean Hachem is his class
approach in business ... and not being
prone to exaggeration.
The recent opening of Dean's sec-
ond Sheik Restaurant ... at Laurel
Park Plaza in Livonia ... (the other is
on Orchard Lake Road in West
Bloomfield) ... again brought out
much more than was expected by
many.
It is a great location ... just off the
Laurel Park mall entrance on Six Mile
and Newburgh.
Seating is for about 260 in a strik-
ing atmosphere ... The former D.
Dennison's locale was completely gut-
ted by Dean ... who poured endless
dollars into a fine-looking setting.
Five golden chandeliers were
brought from Lebanon ... colorful
murals, shiny brass and copper arti-
facts, enlarged kitchen, etc. ... And
food that has given the Sheik a
Mideastern dining high note.
Another opening will be in
December, when Dean expects to unveil
a third Sheik location ... in the new
mid-field terminal of Metro Airport.
OLDIE BUT GOODIE ... Three
bubbes (grandmas) were sitting around
and bragging about their children ...
The first one says, "You know my
son, he graduated first in his class
from Stanford. He's now a doctor
making $250,000 a year in Chicago."
The second woman says, "You
know my son, he graduated first in
his class from Harvard. He's now a
lawyer making a half-million dollars a
year and he lives in Los Angles."
The last woman says, "You know
my son, he never did too well in
school. He never went to any univer-
sity but he now makes one million
dollars a year in New York working as
a sports repairman."
The other two women ask, "What is
a sports repairman?" The grandmother
replies, "He fixes hockey games, foot-
ball games, baseball games ..."
KORN KORNER ... from Avery
Warnick ... About the horse who went
into a bar and the bartender asked,
"Why such a long face?" El
