Our Volunteers
You couldn't hire these folks.
Considering the hours they put in, you
couldn't afford them.
They're homemakers, lawyers, teachers,
retirees, social workers, doctors and
students. They're the people who bring
joy to the lives of the elderly, advocate
for individuals with disabilities, raise
funds for Federation's Annual Campaign
and, yes, serve on task forces and
boards and committees.
They're the people who volunteer with
the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit and its agencies.
They don't do it for payment — unless
you count personal satisfaction as pay-
ment. And yet they keep devoting their
time, talent and heart to our communi-
ty and our people.
Why do they do it? Maybe because it's
the right thing to do. Maybe because
tikkun olam — repairing the world —
is the Jewish thing to do.
Lend a hand. Become a volunteer.
