SARAH G. AGREE, 93, of Southfield,
died Feb. 7. She was a bookkeeper at
Cadillac Meat Company and an avid
donor - many charitable organizations.
She is survived by her grandchildren,
Paul Agree of Oak Park, Mark Agree of
Oak Park; sister, Ruth Greenbaum of
West Bloomfield. She was the beloved
wife of the late Paul Agree; loving moth-
er of the late David Agree; dear sister of
the late Bertha Berry.
Interment at Nusach Harie
Cemetery. Contributions may be direct-
ed to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.

RHEA APPELMAN, 88, of Huntington
Woods, died Feb. 10. She was a past
president of Maimonides, a past presi-
dent of League of Jewish Women, a past
president of Keep Detroit Beautiful, was
honored with the "Heart Of Gold"
award from the city of Detroit and was
on the scholarship committee of-the
National Council of Jewish Women.
Mrs. Appelman is survived by her
sons, Jerry Appelman of West
Bloomfield, David Appelman of Oak
Park; grandchildren, Michael, Elissa,
Jason and Victoria, Max Appelman;
great-grandchildren, Adilyne and Jackson
Appelman; sister, Blanche Siegal of
Chicago and Doris Gerchikov of Buffalo
Grove, Ill. She was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. Howard B. Appelman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be direct-
ed to the Scholarship Fund at the
National Council of Jewish Women.

SIMONE BEHAR NEMON, 72, of
Los Angeles, died Feb.
11. Born in Alexandria,
Egypt, she attended the
EGC (English Girls
College).
In the last year of
World War II, she
served as a hostess in a
club in Alexandria,.for
Palestinian (Jewish)
Simone Nemon
sailors in the Royal
Navy. In 1946 she
joined her brother Marcel in Birmingham,

England, to study fine arts. Her parents
sent her to France where she studied cos-
metic chemistry at an ORT school and
later worked at the Institut Payot.
In 1951 Simone and her brother,
Marcel immigrated to Canada. She lived in
Toronto, working at Helena Rubinstein.
She met Norbert Nemon, whom she mar-
ried in 1953, lived for a short time in
Windsor, Ontario, and later in Oak Park.
In 1962, seeking better opportuni-
ties, the Nemons moved to California,
settling in Piedmont. When they
divorced, Simone, needing to earn a
livelihood, went back to school to
become a dental hygienist.
In 1998, she decided to move perma-
nently to southern California the fol-
lowing year. She became an avid con-
tributor for many magazines, writing on
Sephardic subjects, including tales of her
childhood as well as Sephardic food.
Mrs. Nemon.was a member of the
Greek Association of Orange County,
the Bridge Club and the Writers Clubs
of Leisure World. She won first prize in
a California baking contest for her
Moustachito date cookies.
She was also the membership chair-
man of the worldwide EGC Alumni
Association.
Mrs. Nemon is survived by her chil-
dren, Alec Nemon of Fairfield, Calif,
Rabbi Binyomin Nemon of New York,
Jeanette and Joel Fischman of.Los
Angeles; five grandchildren; brother and
sister-in-law, Marcel and Shirley Behar
of Southfield.

BELLE DINAH BRATT, 74, of Oak
Park, died Feb. 8.
She is survived by her brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Wallace and Marlene Bratt of
Oak Park; nieces and nephews, Janet and
Frank Ginis, Harry and Elizabeth Bratt;
great-niece, Rachel Bratt. She was the
loving sister of the late Samuel Bratt.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park. Arrangements

LESLIE COHEN, 78, of Southfield, died
Feb. 11. He worked as an engineer for the
Chrysler Corporation for over 31 years.
He also was a World War II veteran in the
British Army.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Regina Cohen; son, Baron Cohen Of
Novi; daughter and son-in-law, Teresia
and Chuck Louer of Deerfield, Ill.; broth-
er, Syril Cohen of Windsor, Ont., Canada;
grandchildren, Michael Bornstien,
Zachary Bornstein, Sean Cohen. He was
the son of the late Baron and Ella Cohen;
brother of the late Beryl Green.
Graveside services were held at the
Adat Shalom Memorial Park Cemetey.

FAYE B. DAVIS, 85 formerly of Flint
of Farmington Hills, died Feb. 1. She
and her husband owned and operated
Herb Davis Jewelers in Flint for over 25
years. She was a member of
Congregation Beth Israel and its sister-
hood as well as Hadassah.
She is survived by her daughter,
Marilyn Rosenfeld of Farmington Hills;
grandchildren, Jason and Michelle
Rosenfeld of Franklin; Eric Rosenfeld of
Birmingham; sisters, Ruth Weszeley of
Phoenix, Edith Calhoun of Seattle;
brother, Leo Fleishcman of Phoenix; sis-
ter-in-law, Margaret Hirsch LeVine of
Hallandale, Fla. She was the loving wife
of the late Herbert M. Davis; mother--
in-law of the late Stanley R. Rosenfeld;
sister of the late Sammy Fleischman and
the late Eleanor Landau.
Graveside services were held at
Machpelah Cemetery, Flint.

ROSALIND MAY EVANOFF, 85, of
Southfield, died Feb. 8. She retired at
age 71 from the Crowley chain after
working as a fabric buyer. She was the
author of the children's
book The Rose Tree
That Wouldn't Bloom
and Other Tales; she
had many poems pub-
lished. She was also
the publicity chairman
for Four Seasons
Bonsai Club, a 50-
year member as well
Rosalind Evanoff
as a past president of
the Oakland County
Infant Service Group and was honored
in 2000 as "Woman Of The Year."
Mrs. Evanoff is survived by her hus-
band of 38 years, Peter Evanoff; son and
daughter-in-law, Edward and Carol May
of Lake Orion; daughter and son-in-law,
Diane and Mel Clayton of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Michael and
Kathie Jones, Berton and Renee May,

Brian Clayton and his fiance, Teri Zee,
Jamie Clayton, Jeffrey May; great-grand-
children, Sarah May, Debbie May, Jillian
Jones and Jackson Jones. She was the
beloved wife of the late Bernard May.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

LOIS HELEN FIELD, 82, formerly of
Berkley of Walnut Creek, Calif, died
Feb. 10. She was the managing director
of Field Art Studio in Berkley for 34
years. She was a member of ORT, B'nai
B'rith Women and Congregation B'nai
Israel of Walnut Creek.
Mrs. Field is survived by her husband
of 64 years, Samuel Field; son, Michael
Field of Birmingham; daughters, Susan
Field of Farmington Hills, Andrea Field of
Walnut Creek; brother and sisters-in-law,
Alan and Ida Nathan of Bloomfield Hills,
Gertrude Seldes of Pomapno Beach, Fla.
She was the daughter of the late Mathilda
and Nathaniel Nathan; sister of the late
Dorothy Sternberg and Daniel Nathan.
Arrangements were by Sinai Memorial

NICOLE FINZELBER, 24, of West
Bloomfield.
She is survived by her mother, Caron
Minowitz of West Bloomfield; father,
Steven Finzelber; many loving family
members and friends.

BERNICE LOIS FORREST, 81, of Ann
Arbor, died Feb. 10. She was an elemen-
tary school art teacher, a member of the
Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Association,
Birmingham Women Painters Society,
B'nai B'rith and a lifetime member of
Temple Beth El and its sisterhood.
Mrs. Forrest is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Jeffrey and Sharon
Forrest of Bloomfield Hills; daughters and
sons-in-law, Dr. Maureen Forrest and
Dennis Capozza of Ann Arbor, Dr. Elise
Forrest of Manchester; grandchildren,
Roger and Erika Erlandson; brother-in-law
and sister-in-law, Leonard A. and Sylvia
Newman Forrest. She was the beloved wife
of the late Marvin Forrest; loving mother
of the late Roger Alan Forrest.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
