Professor and psychologist Sonia Pone
will present a discussion on "Anxiety:
One of Life's Challenges," at the Food
for Thought program, 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday. Jan. 24, at Temple Shir
Shalom, 3999 Walnut Lake Road, West
Bloomfield.
The program is sponsored by the
Women's Campaign and Education
Department of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Pone is an adjunct professor at Wayne
State University Medical School and a
practicing psychologist. She is a board
member of the Michigan Psychoanalytic
Foundation and the American
Association for Marriage, Divorce and
Family, as well as a member of Michigan
Women Psychologists and the Michigan
Interprofessional Association.
She has lectured extensively before
community groups and appeared on sev-
eral talk shows. She authored a paper on
"Second-Generation Effects on Children
of Holocaust Survivors." She is also a
past vice president of Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills.
Sherry Haffner will chair the event;
Abbe Sherbin is associate chair.
Cost for the program and lunch is
$25. Registration deadline is Jan. 19.
There will be no solicitation of gifts at
this event.
