Bloomfield Hills,
died Dec. 21. He
was an attorney and
for 52 years was a
partner with David
Sparrow. He was also
a 1951 graduate of
Detroit College of

Rowin
Country Club and
the Southfield
Downtown Development Authority.
Mr. Rowin is survived by his

wife, Helen Rowin; son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Linc and Elise Rowin of
Huntington Woods; daughters and
sons-in-law, Mary and Larry Fox of
Huntington Woods, Elizabeth
Rowin and Michael Sklar of
Southfield; grandchildren,
Alexandra Erica Fox, Paige Rowin;
sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie
and Marvin Golden of California;
brother and sisters-in-law, Harold
and Sigrid Rowin, Lily Alexander of
Toronto.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be directed
to the Gerald Rowin Memorial
Fund at Temple Beth El or the
Milton Alexander Memorial Fund at

WILLIAM RUBIN, 83, of Tucson,
Ariz., formerly of Detroit, died Dec.
21. He was an oil executive and a
member of Temple Beth El.
He is survived by his wife, Doris
Rubin. He was the loving father of
the late Thomas and the late Ronald
Rubin.

Southfield, died Dec. 23.
She is survived by her nephew

EVELYN LEAH SHAPERO, 87, of
West Bloomfield, died Dec. 26. She
was active with Brandeis University
and volunteered at many Detroit-
area hospitals.
She is survived by her son and

Shawna Mallet of Bloomfield Hills;
daughter and son-in-law, Jane and
Michael Lawson of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Jennifer
Shapero, Brandon and Andrew
Lawson, Stacy and Tom Vida. She
was the beloved wife of the late
Jerome L. Shapero.
Services and interment at Clover
Hill Park Cemetery. Contributions
