ABOUT 450 WAS the "just right"
count for caterer Jeff Rosenberg's recent
glatt kosher all-you-can-eat Italian buffet
at Adat Shalom Synagogue ... Down
from the 600 that attended his glatt
kosher Chinese buffet ... but the "more
manageable" figure that Jeff had hoped
for.
Plenty of good food again ... and a lot
of assistance from a . fine staff of employ-
ees ... as a Gypsy duo strolled.
Date of a third international-
themed, glatt kosher, all-you-can-eat

The beautiful
showgirls, will always
be there ... They are
as much a part of Las
Vegas as the great
brunches that started
in the early 1940s at
the original El
Rancho Vegas hotel,
the first one on the Las Vegas Strip ...
Owner Beldon Katleman kepi: cus-
tomers in the hotel after the second
show by initiating the "Midnight Chuck
Wagon Buffet
All you can eat for a
dollar."
El Rancho in the late '40s, was also
the first place to have beautiful show
girls.
But they'll never replace the likes of
the Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Sammy
Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and
Peter Lawford ... and so many, many
other wonderful entertainers who made
Las Vegas the "Entertainment Capitol of
the World."
Word is that the next biggie hotel casi-
no in Las Vegas will be called the Palm
... with a Middle-Eastern theme.
THE BAR MITZVAH brunch recep-
tion at Big Daddy's banquet room for
their son, Larry Kline, almost became a
lot more expensive than they had
dreamed.
Everybody had a good time at the
affair ... except, after the evening had
ended, his parents ... Shirley Kline dis-
covered that the yellow princess-cut dia-
mond wasn't in its ring setting ... Hubby
Larry came back to look for it in a hope
against hope that it might have fallen
out at the event ... He explained to Big
Daddy's manager, Veta Stylianou, what
had happened ... and she joined in the
search ... Luckily, Veta found it on the
floor under a table ... shining in all its 40
to 50 thousand dollars' worth of glitter.
REUNION DEPT ... Former class-
mates are being sought for the big 30th
being planned for 2001 by Oak Park
High School's class of 1971 ... Call
