ith the theme, "Who
Wants to Dress Like a
Millionaire?" guests of a
Nov. 8 fashion show
knew they were in for a rich evening.
An audience of 200 came to view the
newest styles as staff and residents of
Fleischman Residence/Blumberg Plaza
and Jewish Apartments and Services
Hechtman Apartments, both in West
Bloomfield, took to the runway.
In the absence of Regis Philbin, host
of ABC-TV's "Who wants to Be a
Millionaire?" this program was hosted
by "Regina Philbot," aka Carol
Rosenberg, associate director of Jewish
Home and Aging Services — her outfit
accessorized with a money-motif tie.
Models entered the Fleischman atri-
um to the accompaniment of volunteer
Marlene Nessel on piano, while volun-
teer Irving Stollman captured it all on
video. "He donated his expertise and she
followed her assignment, to play songs
that had to do with money," explained
Myrna Katz, Fleischman program direc-
tor.
In addition to discovering that the
most misused term in fashion is "one
size fits all" and that the hottest color of
the fall season is electric blue, guests also
learned a little about those modeling the
evening's outfits.
"Ida Zuroff may be short but she
will surely be noticed when she wears
her bright red, gold-zippered wool
jacket," said Margot Parr, JHAS exec-
utive director, who acted as narrator
for the 12th annual show. Fran
Goldstein, a neighbor of Zuroff's at
Fleischman, modeled a beige, embroi-
dered sweatshirt and lightweight black
machine-washable purse. Making her
entrance, Parr described Goldstein as a
talented lady "rarely seen without
knitting needles or a crochet hook."
At various points during the evening,
volunteers were chosen from the audi-
ence of residents, family and friends, to
be tested on their knowledge of fashion.
