room and 25 in a bar-lounge sector ...
Customers entering the main dining
room from a foyer with leaded-glass
entrance door, are ushered into a room
with bluish-green walls, lavender walls,
mauve padded chairs, etched glass, frost-
ed glass, mirrors, vertical drapes with
valances, white linen napkins, bottles of
virgin olive oil on all the tables, and
well-chosen artifacts.
Marco's is open for lunch Monday-
Friday, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.; dinner
Monday-Thursday, 3-9:30 p.m.; Friday,
3-10:30 p.m.; Saturday 4:30-10:30 p.m.
... Sundays for private parties only.
Steve Kedzierski, executive chef, and
John Salman, sous chef, have both been
at Marco's since it opened ... Owner
Marco Conte, who enjoys improvising
with food, prepares the specials.
Servers at Marco's Dining & Cocktails
have a gracious and helpful way about
them ... You'll enjoy requesting fresh gar-
lic mashed into virgin olive oil with
which to dip the homemade rolls ... All
bread at Marco's is from dough rolled
and baked on the premises.
Dishes ordered at Marco's are prepared
when requested ... like the wonderful
item that is available only at Marco's ...
Cherry Hazelnut Chicken, breast
sautéed with sun-dried cherries and
Frangelico liqueur ... Also the broiled
filet of Norwegian salmon with mush-
room-caper dill sauce.
And what would a good Italian restau-
rant be without a fine choice of pasta
selections? ... The offering at Marco's of
18 pasta presentations include the tradi-
tional ... and favorites like its own
Linguine a la Gaeta from the Conte
hometown in Italy ... linguine with olive
oil, garlic, baby clams and shrimp ...
Also the much-requested penne pasta
sauteed with prosciutto, white beans,
spinach, fresh tomatoes, mushrooms,
olive oil and garlic.
The selection of wines and liquors is
choice.
Classic dishes at Marco's ... from var-

WHAT ORIGINALLY started out as
a reunion in California of former
Detroit Central High School grads from
1956 and 1957 has become a Detroit
High Schools Reunion instead ... with
grads from Mumford, Cass Tech and
Oak Park High invited, too.
