Mark's mitzvah experiences have
been varied, including bingo night at
the Jewish Association for Residential
Care, working at a carnival and helping
to build a sukkah.
Melissa Julie
Mendelson will be
called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 18, at
Congregation B'nai
Moshe. Melissa is the
daughter of Shelly
and Jody Mendelson
and sister of Arielle and Erica
Mendelson.
Melissa's proud bubbie and zayde are
Minnie and Sam Berman. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Philip
Mendelson and the late Theresa
Mendelson.
Melissa is an eighth-grade honor stu-
dent at Walled Lake Middle School,
where she is treasurer of the student
council. She enjoys music, playing soft-
ball, traveling, charting on AOL, U-M
football and spending time with family
and friends.
For her mitzvah project, Melissa
worked at the Holocaust Memorial
Center in West Bloomfield and assisted
at the Wingo event for Women's
American ORT. She also made dona-
tions to many of her favorite charities.
Bradley David Pierce
will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah at Adat Shalom
Synagogue on
Saturday, Nov. 18.
He is the son of
Bonnie and David
Otis of Waterford
and Keith Pierce of West Bloomfield.
His brother and sister, Kyle and
Camryn Otis, are looking forward to
his simcha. His proud grandparents are
Elaine and Rod Faudem of West
Bloomfield and Diane Otis and
Maurice Otis, all of Southfield. He is
also the grandson of Frances and Paul
Pierce of Farmington Hills.
Bradley attends Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. His interests include sports,
music and movies. Bradley enjoys
spending his summer months at Camp
Tamarack. For his mitzvah project,
Brad helped with the Hadassah Ducky
Derby and volunteered at the Hillel
Day School Development Office. He
also volunteered his time working with
children at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek B'nai Israel Nursery School. In
addition, Bradley donated a book to the
Evan Tyler Otis Bookmobile of Adat
Shalom Synagogue in memory of his
brother, Evan Otis.
Adam Donald Schiff
will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Friday, Nov.
17, at Temple Israel.
He is the son of Lisa
Schiff and Steven and
Kathy Schiff and
brother of Taryn.
Happy grandmother is Natalie Schiff
He is also the grandson of the late
Donald Schiff and the late Ilene and
Harris Crane.
A student at Warner Middle School
in Farmington Hills, Adam loves golf,
hockey and computers. His favorite
mitzvah project was assisting in Temple
Israel's religious school.

Shapiro will celebrate
her bat mitzvah at
Temple Israel on
Saturday, Nov. 18.
She is the daughter of
Sally and Dennis
Shapiro and sister of
Brent. Excited grand-
parents are Dorothy and Dr. Morris
Medalie; she is also the grandchild of
the late Mae and Benjamin Shapiro.
A student at Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield, Allison
likes music, dancing, swimming,
singing, acting and attending Camp
Tamarack. Among her mitzvah pro-
jects, she volunteered at Yad Ezra and
assisted in Temple Israel's media center.
