The Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit has completed its fall sports
seasons.
The cross country team had three
meets. Josh Diskin established the
school record with a time of 22:25.
Jeremy Baruch (24:04) and Jon Guyer
(24:06) set personal-best times.
The golf team also had three
matches, against Bloomfield Hills
Andover High School (2) and Lahser
High School. Jason Gardin had a low
score of 43 at Pontiac Municipal Golf
Course. Other team members were
Jason Garden, Adam Gardin, Dan
Gonik, Adam Greenbaum, Nathan
Lada, Ian. Robinson, Ari Barak and
Michael Kroopnick.
In its final game, Oct. 24 at the
West Bloomfield Jewish Community
Center, JAMD's girls basketball team
defeated Akiva 19-13. Sarah Sallen
and Keren Steibel had six points each
for JAMD, Rachel Lachover had
three, and Nicki Milgrom and Abbie
Helman had two each. Other team
members were Ilana Goldberg, who
had five assists, Ilana Parker, Shira
Heisler and Amanda Ossipove.
JAMD will begin winter sports
later this month, with boys' basketball
and girls' volleyball varsity teams.

Season record: Pterodactyls 4-1; T-Rex
4-1; Raptors 1-3, Mammoths 1-4.
Nov. 2 highlights: Adam Deneburg
had five goals to lead the Mammoths
to their first win, an 8-7 victory over
the Raptors. Alex Greer of the
Petrodactyls scored four goals, Zack
Lederman countered with four for the
T-Rex in an 11-10 win.

victory over the Beetles. Mikeal
Ziegler and Alex Simmons had eight
of the Mantis' goals in an 11-5 win
over the Fireants.
