Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Brandon William Kovnat will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday; Nov. 4, dur-
ing services at
Congregation Beth
Ahm. He is the son of
Diana and Alexander
Kovnat and brother of
Michael. Proud grand-
parents are Rosanne
and Irving Kovnat of
Glencoe, Ill. He is also the grandson of
the late Sylvia and Meyer Rothenberg.
Brandon is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He enjoys playing soccer,
swimming, basketball, computers, read-
ing, magic, being in the Boy Scouts and
playing his saxophone in the school
band. For his mitzvah project, Brandon
volunteered at Yad Ezra.

Jonathon Scott Margolis will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 4, at
Bais Chabad Torah
Center in West
Bloomfield. He is the
son of Amy and
Sanford Margolis and
brother of Bradley.
Proud grandparents
are Saul and Beverly
Nusbaum and Harry
and Corrine Margolis.
Jonathon attends Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. He enjoys playing basketball,
hockey and working on the computer.
Jonathon is excited to share this simcha

Alison Deborah Mayseless will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 4, at
Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Alison is
the daughter of Leah
and Arye Mayseless
and sister of David.
Her proud grandpar-
ents are Jenia and
Ahron Mayseless of
Israel and Helen
Miller of New York. She is also the
granddaughter of the late Jonas Miller.
Alison is an eighth-grade honor stu-
dent at O.E. Dunckel Middle School in
Farmington Hills. She enjoys reading,
music, singing, dancing and interacting
on the computer. Alison was a member
of the Adat Shalom Youth Choir for
three years. As part of her mitzvah pro-
ject, she found it particularly meaning-
ful to volunteer at Yad Ezra.

Nathan Mutchnick was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Sunday, Oct.
29, at Congregation
Bais Chabad. He is
the son of Renee
Mutchnick and
Milton Mutchnick
and brother of Ian,
Aric, Sean and Rachel.
In honor of his bar
mitzvah, Nathan par-
ticipated in the Empty Bowls Project
with Yad Ezra, the Food Bank of
Oakland County and the Jewish News;
the event raises awareness on issues of
hunger. Nathan and his family and
friends made and donated bowls for the
event.
Nathan is a seventh-grade student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He enjoys playing football,
basketball, going to the movies and lis-
tening to music. .
