Family Shabbat will be marked at 11
a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at
Congregation Beth Shalom. Future
service dates are Dec. 2 and Jan. 6.
Designed for families to enjoy
together, the event is comprised of an
abbreviated traditional Conservative
Shabbat service led by congregants.
There will be opportunities for Torah
honors. Children will be encouraged
to participate through songs and cre-
ative activities.
A Kiddush will follow the service
when Family Shabbat participants
may join the entire congregation.
The congregation's Family
Programming Committee, chaired by
Michelle Sider, sponsors the Family
Shabbat Service. Everyone is wel-
come.

For Flu Clinic
The Jimmy Prentis Morris Building
of the Jewish Community Center, in
collaboration with the Oakland
County Health Division, will hold a
flu immunization clinic from 9-11
a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the JCC
in Oak Park.
Participants should bring Medicare
and/or Medicaid cards and a picture
ID with a current address. There is a
$3 donation for persons with no
Medicare and/or Medicaid card.

Chap/cling Trains
Volunteers
The Jewish Community Chaplaincy
program, which provides religious, cul-
tural and spiritual support to frail
Jewish older adults living in care facili-
ties, will offer free volunteer-training.
The next session will be 7-9 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Fleischman
Residence, West Bloomfield. Quality
of care standards and issues for resi-
dents in care facilities will be dis-
cussed as well as the importance of
advocacy. The speaker will be Margot
Parr, executive director, Jewish Home
and Aging Services. The session is free
of charge.
