A NEW voice for
Jewish America
Stone had been doing some work
for Nordstrom's in Los Angeles when
he was brought in to DFS as a con-
sultant.
Six months later, he was offered
the job as general manager.
"Consulting has been a wonderful
thing." says Stone of the thread which
has run throughout his career.
At DFS, Stone oversaw the growth
of their retail business from $260
million to $420 million, and
increased profitability seven-fold in
just two years.
He was offered a transfer to his
choice of Taipei, Singapore, Sydney,
Auckland or Hong Kong. "But I'm an
only child, and I was already one-
quarter of the way around the world,"
said Stone. "So I thought about my
family, and came back to Michigan."
However, Stone can't escape from
Singapore. Exhibit Enterprises has
spent two years creating a center
showcasing Singapore. It opens this
month, and the board of directors of
Exxon will meet at the facility, their
first board meeting outside the U.S.
Closer to home, EE created a cen-
ter at the Troy headquarters of
Delphi. The 100,000-square-foot
facility contains an interactive theatri-
cal museum. "We maintain it as well
with new technologies," said Stone.
EE's 180,000-square-foot base in
Dearborn, a former Sylvania plant, is
like a virtual wonderland. But Stone
said that as the company has grown,
it has also outgrown the space, and

Kevin J. Singer, executive director
of Global Communications for
Visteon: "I know Sheldon and have
been impressed. I think it is a very
consumer-oriented company, and I
think Sheldon will take it to the next
level, meeting the needs of customers,
and creating ideas and exhibits that
stand out."
Neal Zipser, marketing commu-
nications manager of Visteon's
global aftermarket division:
"Visteon, as a relatively new company
in the industry, had to develop its
brand name fast. Trade shows play an
important part in building a brand
name, especially to trade consumers
and distributor/dealers.
"Exhibit Enterprises creates a pre-
mium presence for us at all the trade
shows, with a premium look within
tight budgets. They understand what
our needs are."
