Bar-Ilan University mourn the passing of
ILDRED BRASCH JASEN, 93, of
outhfield, died Sept. 21. Mrs. Jasen
as a lyric soprano opera singer and per-
formed with the Chicago Civic Opera;
she also co-hosted a classical music radio
program with national radio host Allen
Jones. She sang and
performed under
the name Mildred
( , Mantel.
She is survived by
her sons and daugh-
ters-in-law, David
and Sassy Brasch,
Miles "Mike" and
Anna Brasch of
Bloomfield Hills;
Mildred Jasen
grandchildren,
Donald and Susan
Brasch, Debbie Brasch, Abbey and Ken
Nathan, Warren and Christa Brasch;
great-grandchildren, Jennie and Glen
Brasch, Jackie and Nicole Pilate, Alec,
Jack and Daniel Nathan, Alayna and
Emily Brasch; sister, Gertrude Shaw.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Abraham Brasch and the late Norman
Jasen.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

JOSEPH MALLIMSON, 84, of
Rochester Hills, died Sept. 21. He was
an attorney, real estate investor, manu-
facturer of shower curtains and an active
volunteer for Camp Loyalton For Boys
in New York.
Mr. Mallimson is survived by his
wife, Jewell Mallimson; daughters and
son-in-law, Ann and Alfred Kresse of
Romeo, Marjorie Laule of Beverly Hills;
grandchildren, Ryan, Stephen Kresse,
Scott and Adrianne Laule; brothers and
sisters-in-law, David and Annette
Mallimson of New York, Leonard and
Arlene Mallimson of New York.
Interment at White Chapel

Jewish Federation of Metropolitan

ERNEST MENDELSOHN, 76, of
Huntington Woods, died Sept. 18. He
was a general contractor and owner of
BTW Construction. Mr. Mendelsohn
was a member of the Jewish War
Veterans and a charter member and trea-
surer of Alliance for the Mentally Ill of
Oakland County.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy
Mendelsohn; sons and daughters-in-law,
Barry Mendelsohn and Laura Paskin of
Seattle, Todd Mendelshohn of Pontiac,
To her children, Lois and Burt, and to her many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
Nonnie Rose was the supreme expression of vibrancy,
compassion and love; she will be deeply missed by
her dear ones, and by our community.
May her beautiful memory comfort
her family at this difficult time.
