JESS R. FEILER, 92, formerly of Oak
Park of Lauderhill, Fla., died Aug. 30.
He joined his father and brothers in
establishing a popcorn and soda foun-
tain business, which later became a full
restaurant and institutional food equip-
ment purveyor and eventually one of
the leading soft ice cream equipment
distributors in the country. He helped
found the Michigan Soft Serve
Association and the Michigan Fast Food
Association and served as its first presi-
dent.
He is survived by his wife, Jean;
brother Paul; children, Larry and
Barbara, Frank and Debbi, Ronna Cole,
Dr. Joel and Jan Kriegel, Bruce Kriegel;
grandchildren, Jess and Maggie, Michele
and Barry, Mark, Nancy, Larry, Liza and
Joel, Daniel and Kimberly, Dayna,
Jamie and Ruth, Jeremy and Michelle,
Julie Kriegel; great-grandchildren,
Kaylie, Maxwell, Max, Gillian, Bradley,
Nicole. He was the husband of the late
Ceil Cohen Feiler.
Services and interment in Florida.

ELEANOR FENBERG, 97, of
Southfield, died Sept. 1. She was a for-
mer co-owner of Colonial Department
Stores. She also was a volunteer at
North End Clinic (before it was
renamed Sinai Hospital) and at Sinai
Hospital she logged 44,000 hours vol-
unteer hours. Mrs. Fenberg was a past
president the local chapter of the Jewish
Hospital for Jewish Children in Denver.
She is survived by her daughters and
son-in-law, Rhoda Krauss of Southfield,
Shirley and Marvin Barish of Houston;
son and daughter-in-law, L. Bennett and
Marilyn Fenberg of Houston; daughter-
in-law, Lenore Fenberg; grandchildren,
Iva Krauss, Jay and Carol Fenberg,
Jacqueline Barish, David and Linda
Barish, Leon and Terry Barish, Janice
and David Oberhettinger, Steven
Fenberg, Larry Fenberg and four great-
grandchildren. Mrs. Fenberg was the
beloved wife of the late Bennett
Fenberg; loving mother of the late
Morton Fenberg.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be direct-
ed to the Menorah Fund at
Congregation Beth Shalom.

JACK H. GOLD, formerly of
Southfield of Coral Springs, Fla., died
Aug. 29.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam

and Barbara, Gary and Debby, Roy and
Janet; grandchildren, Jared, Daryl,
Bryan, Matthew, Michael and Lauren.

JOHANNA GORDON, 58, of West

Bloomfield, died Aug. 29. She was an
English teacher for 29 years at
Southfield-Lathrup
High School. Mrs.
Gordon received her
master's degree in
counseling at
Oakland University
and her bachelor of
arts degree from the
University of
Michigan. She was a
member of Temple
Johanna Gordon
Israel, former chair-
man of the Balfour
Concert for the Zionist Organization of
America, past chair of the gifted stu-
dents program of Southfield and a cur-
rent board member of the Jewish
Community Council.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her hus-
band, Louis Gordon; parents, Dr. Israel
Silver and Anne Gonte Silver of
Bloomfield Hills; daughters, Wendy
Eisenberg of Florida, Susan Gordon of
Conn., Laurie Gordon of Conn., Marla
Gordon of Arizona; son and daughter-
in-law, Aaron and Carrie Gordon of
Traverse City, brother and sister-in-law,
Dr. Daniel and Lynnette Silver of Calif.;
sister, Sheryl Silver of Bloomfield Hills.
Interment at Hebrew Memorial Park.
