Before photos:

Opposite page from top to bottom: The facade was a typical nondesript

1950s residence with brick and alumninum siding. The master bath

consisted of two small spaces. The family room consisted of a long,

narrow area with stained glass window insets.

After photos:

Opposite page: The expanded master bath, top photo, features marble

countertops and a half-circle window to incorporate natural light. The

updated kitchen, bottom right, features an island work station with a

granite countertop and Sub-Zero refrigerator drawers. The sky-lit

breakfast nook connects to the family room. The expanded kitchen

area now is perfect for entertaining and casual bar-style serving.

This page, clockwise: Fairway Construction created a room with rich

wood details, recessed lighting and built-in bookcases. The wood

desk with a green marble inset is the perfect accent for this elegant

library. Fairway used architecturally-detailed Dryvit and added a wide

arched entry. The owners requested a facade reflecting the stucco

exteriors of Florida homes. Adam Helfman, graduate of Hillel Day

School and Michigan State University, is a certified remodeler and

president of Fairway Construction. Walls were removed to create a

large open family room with oak floors and entertainment center.
