T

radition, just like Tevye sings in Fiddler on the
Roof, is everything to Fairway Construction.
Samuel Helfman began the business in 1926,
and six decades later, his great-grandson, Adam, is at
the helm. At age 32, Adam is president of Fairway
Construction Company in Southfield and a fourth-gen-
eration family member.
According to Builder/Architect, Southeastern Michigan
Edition, the Fairway completes nearly 400 remodeling
projects per year. The company is the recipient of sev-
eral national awards, including the "Regional
Remodeler of the Year in 1999" from the National
Association of the Remodeling Industry.
Fairway Construction recently updated a 1950s
Birmingham residence, shown here.
