MARTIN SORKOWITZ

a.m., Sunday, June 18, at Adat Shalom Memorial Park. Rabbi
Yoskowitz will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Detroiter of Dayton, Ohio, died May
28. She graduated from Mumford High
School and was confirmed at and gradu-
ated from Temple Israel. Her degree in
special education was from Eastern
Michigan University.
While attending college, Mrs. Hills
served as a volunteer for Ypsilanti State
Hospital-Yorkwoods Children's Center
and the Detroit House of Corrections
for Women in Plymouth. Later she
worked as a teacher for emotionally dis-
turbed children at Hawthorne Center
School in Northville. From 1973-1988,
she taught children with severe commu-
nication and behavior disorders at
Montgomery County public schools in
Ohio. While in Ohio, Mrs. Hills did
volunteer work at Good Samaritan
Hospital, St. Elizabeth Medical Center
and for the Alzheimer's Association.
Mrs. Hills is survived by her sons,
Bob and Rod; stepfather and mother,
Jesse and Florence Rice; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Richard and Renee
Citron, Don and Phyllis Rice, Ron and
Linda Rice; mother-in-law, Margaret
Hills; grandchildren, B.J., Ali, Ryan.

Bloomfield, died June 1. Mr. Howard
actively practiced law until the age of
92, often saying he was the oldest
practicing attorney
in Michigan. He was
an avid horseman,
often riding in the
State Fair opening
procession. He also
loved to travel, encir-
cling the globe on
three occasions, once Mark Howard
without any pre-
arranged reserva-
tions.
Mr. Howard is survived by his
daughter, Suzanne Howard of Sante
Fe, N.M.; son and daughter-in-law,
Harvey and Patti Howard of Los
Angeles; and twin brothers and sister-
in-law, Milton and Raquel Howard,
Arthur Howard. He was the beloved
husband of the late Betty Howard.
Interment at Clover Hill Park

DAVID S. KOVER, 80, of West
Bloomfield, died May 29. Mr. Kover
was a pharmacist for over 60 years and
former owner of Lake Center Drugs. He
was a member of AZO Pharmaceutical
Fraternity, served as a past directorium
and organized the pharmacist breakfast
group. He was a longtime member of
Temple Israel as well as of Perfection
Lodge.
He also served for many years as a
volunteer at Sinai Hospital, became the
first male to be appointed to the Sinai
Hospital Women's Guild and was a vol-
unteer in his wife Janet's classroom. Mr.
Kover served as a pharmacist field medic
in one of the first MASH units during
World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years,
Janet Kover; daughters and son-in-law,
Kathryn Kahn and fiance John Leeman
of Nashville, Joan and Milton Levine of
Farmington Hills; son and daughter-in-
law, Mark and Karen Kover of Kansas
City grandchildren, Amy Mish,
Shannon Levine, Robbie and Brian
Kover; sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor
and Bert Ellsteiti of Redford; sisters-in-
law and brother-in-law, Frances and
Meyer Goldberg, Raenette. Simon of
Cleveland.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

Valley Hospital or the Michigan
Multiple Sclerosis Society. Arrangements

32, died May 24 in California.
She is survived by her husband, Bart
Hubenthal of Woodland Hills, Calif.;
children Alex and Chloe; mother,

Lakes, Calif.; father, David (Phyllis)
Madison of Southfield; sisters, Lisa
Ruby of San Diego, Diane (Wayne)

Woodland Hills, Calif.
ETHEL LASKY, 88, of Novi, died May
31.
Mrs. Lasky is survived by her daugh-
ter, Michelle Patrick of Pincastle, Va.;
grandchildren, Dayne Patrick, Gary and
Peggy Patrick, Gregory Patrick; two
great-grandchildren. She was the
beloved wife of the late Samuel Lasky;
dear sister of the late Fanny Yovis.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
