HAROLD BERNARD GROSS, 79,
of Orlando, Fla., formerly of
Detroit, died April 17.
He is survived by his son, Dr.
Neil D. Gross of Atlanta, Ga.;
daughter, Renie M. Gross of
Bethesda, Md.; brother and sister-in-
law, Stanford and Elizabeth Gross of
Farmington Hills. Mr. Gross was the
beloved husband of the late Minnie
Gross. Contributions may be made
to Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit, 6735 Telegraph, Bloomfield
Hills, MI 48301. Interment at
Hebrew Memorial Park.

Bloomfield, died April 18.
She is survived by her nieces and
nephews, Irving and Dorothy Gold,
Gerry and Miles Elias, Diana and
George Bogorad; grandnieces and
grandnephews; great-grandnieces
and great-grandnephews. Mrs.
Jacobson was the beloved wife of the
late Harry Jacobson.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Services and
interment were held at Hebrew
Memorial Park. Arrangements by
Hebrew Memorial Chapel.

MINNIE KAPLAN, 89, of Florida,
died April 10.
Mrs. Kaplan is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law, Samuel
and Capi Kaplan of Maryland,
Martin and Sandra Kaplan of
Florida, Ronald and Eileen Kaplan
of New York, Danny and Susan
Kaplan of Farmington Hills; grand-
children, Marian and Joseph

ESTHER KNIGHT, 79, of Boca
Raton, Fla., died April 20.
Mrs. Knight is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and
Dr. Alan Blumenthal of Florida,
Judith and Chester Collins; grand-
daughter, Christine. She was the
beloved wife of the late Edward
Knight.
Interment at Machpleah
Cemetery. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.

GUSSIE "GITTLE" LUCKERMAN,
76, of California died April 3. Mrs.
Luckerman was a
marriage and family
counselor in Chicago
and Los Angeles.
"She wanted to help
people," said her
daughter, Sharon
Luckerman of
Detroit. "She knew
how to get to the
Gussie
core of the problem
Luckerman
and help people
heal."
Mrs. Luckerman earned a bachelor's
in social work from the University of
Illinois, a master's in education from
Loyola University, a master's in marriage
and family counseling from Roosevelt
University and a Ph.D. in psychology
from California Coast University.
She taught herself to play the piano
after finding a discarded piano in an
alley when she was 5. She gave lessons to
scores of other children. As an adult, she
enjoyed playing classical, Yiddish and
Broadway music.
Mrs. Luckerman traveled extensively,
visiting China, England, Israel and Italy.
Mrs. Luckerman is survived by her
daughters and son-in-law, Sharon
Luckerman and John Willems, Arona
Luckerman; sons and daughter-in-law
Ron Luckerman, Doug Luckerman and
Susan Kaftan; grandchildren Seth,
Rachel, Lizzy, Emma Rose.

LEO MANHEIMER, 89, formerly of
Detroit and Southfield of Deltona, Fla.,
died April 19.
He is survived by his daughter,
Phyllis Easten; sons, Alan Manheimer
and Robert Manheimer, brother and sis-
ter-in-law, David and Enid Manheimer,
Gus and Beverly Manheimer; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Martha and Henry
Lewis, Sylvia and.George Lewis; grand-
children, Kimberley Easten and Martin
Manheimer, sisters-in-law, Marion
Manheimer, Rose Sweetwine. He was
the husband of the late Mary
Manheimer; brother of the late Irving,
Sol and Harry Manheimer.

SOPHIE JACOBS, 80, of West
Bloomfield, died April 24. She was a
home improvement company secretary.
Mrs. Jacobs in survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shila
Morganroth of Highland; daughter and
son-in-law, Judith and Robert Strohl of
Walled Lake; grandchildren, Scott and
Susan Morganroth, Lonny and Janette
Morganroth; great-grandchildren,
Branden, Brooke and Brock
Morganroth; brother and sister-in-law,
