Mrs. Luckerman was a marriage and family counselor in Chicago and Los Angeles. "She wanted to help people," said her daughter, Sharon Luckerman of Detroit. "She knew how to get to the Gussie core of the problem Luckerman and help people heal." Mrs. Luckerman earned a bachelor's in social work from the University of Illinois, a master's in education from Loyola University, a master's in marriage and family counseling from Roosevelt University and a Ph.D. in psychology from California Coast University. She taught herself to play the piano after finding a discarded piano in an alley when she was 5. She gave lessons to scores of other children. As an adult, she enjoyed playing classical, Yiddish and Broadway music. Mrs. Luckerman traveled extensively, visiting China, England, Israel and Italy. Mrs. Luckerman is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Luckerman and John Willems, Arona Luckerman; sons and daughter-in-law Ron Luckerman, Doug Luckerman and Susan Kaftan; grandchildren Seth, Rachel, Lizzy, Emma Rose.
