RememberingThe Shoah

The Holocaust Memorial Center will
remember the six-million Jews who
died in the Holocaust and also Israel's
victims of terrorism at 1 p.m. Sunday,
April 30, during the community's
annual Holocaust commemoration at
Congregation B'nai Moshe in West
Bloomfield.
The program will begin with a can-
dle-lighting ceremony conducted by
Holocaust survivors and children of
Holocaust survivors. Following the
B'nai Moshe program, a prayer service
and ceremonial candle lighting will be
held at the eternal flame of the
Holocaust Memorial Center in West
Bloomfield, adjacent to the Jewish
Community Center.
The community is invited to attend
the two-part ceremony free of charge.
Chairmen of the memorial committee
are Saul Waldman and Salan Zekelman.

Event sponsors are Shaarit
Haplaytah (The Remnant), an associa-
tion of local Holocaust survivors and
the Holocaust Memorial Center, in
cooperation with Congregation B'nai
Moshe, the Jewish Community
Center, the Jewish Community
Council, Children of Holocaust
Survivors in Michigan, Hidden
Children of Michigan, B'nai B'rith
Great Lakes Region, Anti-Defamation
League and Ecumenical Division of
the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Complete details about the
Holocaust commemoration
program will be part of the Jewish
News' Yom HaShoah coverage
next week.
